2026 Toyota Corolla Cross price, spec details leaked

Key information about the updated 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross range has surfaced online, including detailed pricing and specification updates for the popular small SUV.

A dealer bulletin shared within an Australian owners’ group confirms a $960 price increase across the board, while outlining enhancements across various trims. Toyota had already announced a local launch for the facelifted Corolla Cross in the second half of 2025.

According to the bulletin, the new Corolla Cross models will begin arriving in dealerships by late July, starting with the GX and Atmos variants. The GXL and new GR-Sport trims are expected to follow in early October, with delays attributed to pending certification.

The 2026 lineup starts at $37,440 before on-road costs for the front-wheel-drive GX and goes up to $50,990 for both the all-wheel-drive Atmos and GR-S variants.

Across all grades, the updated models now feature a new air-conditioning refrigerant (HF01234YF) and an Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) for increased pedestrian safety, a standard feature for hybrids.

The previously Atmos-exclusive Parking Support Brake—which can automatically apply the brakes if an obstacle is detected—is now standard on the GX and GXL as well.

GXL gains several premium features from the Atmos:

  • Rain-sensing wipers

  • Surround-view camera

  • Snow drive mode (for AWD)

  • Wireless phone charger

  • Heated front seats

The Atmos trim further improves comfort with ventilated front seats. Additionally, the GX, GXL, and Atmos receive refreshed centre console designs.

The newly introduced GR-Sport (GR-S) trim includes:

  • Distinct front and rear bumpers

  • Lowered sports suspension

  • Retuned steering system

  • Unique 19-inch alloy wheels

As of 2024, all Corolla Cross models sold in Australia are hybrid-only, powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine and hybrid system producing 146kW. Petrol-only versions have been discontinued.

The updated lineup also features styling tweaks such as revised LED headlight internals for the GXL and Atmos trims.

Despite Toyota’s dominant brand position in the country, the Corolla Cross ranked only seventh in its segment last year, trailing behind competitors like the MG ZS, Hyundai Kona, and Mazda CX-30.

2026 Toyota Corolla Cross Pricing (before on-road costs):

  • GX FWD: $37,440

  • GXL FWD: $41,190

  • GXL AWD: $44,190

  • Atmos FWD: $47,990

  • Atmos AWD: $50,990

  • GR-S AWD: $50,990

With enhanced features, a growing hybrid-only range, and the addition of a sporty GR-S variant, the 2026 Corolla Cross is poised to better compete in Australia’s competitive small SUV market.
